A few of the association members took part in the Flea Market held each year at Stop a Sec on the Saturday of Memorialday week end.
Besides the usual "flea stuff", there was also a plant sale.
Raffle tickets were sold for the paddleboat raffle.
The beautiful boat was on display.

Notice of Application for Aquatic Plant Management Permit.
Lake Restoration, Inc. has a permit from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to treat up to 1 acre on Cranberry Lake with aquatic pesticides to control algae and plants. The proposed treatment would occur between May1, 2009 and October 15, 2009.
Lake Restoration, Inc. will conduct a public informational meeting on the proposed treatment if five or more individuals, organizations, special units of government, or local units of government request one. The meeting would give citizens a chance to learn more about the proposed treatment. Lake Restoration is not required to, but may, changed the proposed treatment based on information provided by citizens attending the meeting.
Any request for a public meeting must be made within five days of this notice. The request must specify the topics to be discussed at the meetin, including problems and alternatives and must be sent in writing to Lake Restoration, Inc. 12425 Ironwood Circle, Rogers MN 55374 and the DNR, 810 West Maple Street, Spooner, WI 54801.
This notice is required by Chapter NR 107, Wisconsin Administrative Code.

A very successful fund raiser!
Our garage sale & car wash at Stop -a- Sec was a great success!
Thanks to great weather, location, customers and enthusiastic volunteers, this became a fun and profitable event.
All in all, the event netted over a thousand dollars. This will be used to fight the Eurasian Water Milfoil
in our lake.
Information about EWM and Clean Boats Clean Waters was distributed and the public was very interested and supportive of our cause.

July 14 with a permit from the DNR, the lake was treated with a chemical called Diquat by LAKE RESTORATION, INC.Rogers, MN. White square buoys mark the area that has been treated.
July 4th, left over floating weeds were again cleaned up by Rosemary and Dick Emanuelson.

A good haul...
June 30,
Volunteer divers and clean-up crews (10 - 12 persons ) manually pulled EWM (Eurasian Water Millfoil) in Cranberry Lake.
Pink buoys were placed in the lake to mark the EWM areas.
The problem was worse than expected and a chemical treatment was recommended.
